Canada is a great place to live. It has a good lifestyle, is safe (unfortunately I can't say the same about Mexico), is very tolerant toward immigration and homosexuality (according to some the only good thing about liberals, but I'm not into politics).
Canada is my second home and despite the weather I'm very happy to live here.

The only think I have always hate (yes, hate) about this country is the seal hunt that every year takes place (it starts at april, so this happened last month). This event takes the life of 300,000 baby seals, some as young as 12 days old. Baby seals are brutally killed to get their skin.

Some famous designers uses seal fur in their collections which also helps to create a market for the seal fur industry. Here's the list some of them: Gucci, Versace, Prada, Birger Christensen, Odette Leblanc, Petit Nord, Annita Heinadottir, Marni...
Don't buy seal fur, or other animals fur!

There're some website that protest against this. Some of them makes adifference, some of them have turned this matter into a flamewar, I recomend these links:
http://www.stopthesealhunt.ca/ (IFAW)
http://www.ivwg.org/ In the 1st one you can send a letter to the Canadian Parlament here and if you join you can see an video that shows how seals are killed, is very impressive so be aware.

What else can we do?

4) Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper protesting the seal hunt.

I didn't add the tags on the next picture because it's quite impressive. It made me feel sick and very very sad.Is a real and brutal image, so if you don't want to see this, don't click it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/malary/seal5.jpg

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
